Calgary Taekwondo Academy is pleased to announce the 2015 Western Canadian Tournament of Champions. The tournament will be held on May 23, 2015 at the Notre Dame High School at 11900 Country Village Link, Calgary, Alberta.
The deadline for early registration is 10:00 PM on Wednesday, May 20. Coaches, Master and Instructors should submit the Athlete Summary Form by this date. Late registration is 9:00 PM on Friday, May 22.
The completed Competitor Registration Forms and Medical Forms will be required to pick up ID Badges at ID Pick Up at the Best Western Port O Call Hotel located at 1935 McKnight Boulevard, NE.

The Black Belt pretest is on Saturday, May 2 and will rum from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. All candidates must arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the pretest. We will be working on poomsae, self defense and kyokpa (board breaking).
The next promotion test is May 1. Qualified candidates will be notified by their instructors. To ensure that the test starts on time, please have your forms completed and returned before the testing date.
Test times are as follows:
5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Children Beginner (White to Yellow Belt) & Children Intermediate (Green Stripe Belt)
7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- Children Advance (Green to Red Belt), Youth & Adult Beginner to Advance Levels
Starting May 1 through to May 30 is sparring month for students who are Green Stripe and higher. We will be going over the basic rules of sport sparring as seen in the Olympics. Students will also have a chance to practice unique sparring drills. Intermediate and Advanced students are reminded to bring their sparring gear for Intermediate and Advanced classes.
